Actually Getting a PC

I've been thinking about getting an actual PC for a while now instead of just playing on GeForce NOW. Tired of heavy WiFi usage and mouse delay. I picked out a general list from PC Part Picker and edited it to my liking. Original pricing total (including monitor) was around $1300 but I've managed to bring it down to $1100 by swapping out a few things like 1660 ti -> 1660 super or a general 550w gold power supply to a 450w bronze+ instead. I'll link my build below; please let me know if this is decent and if there are any issues with it/anything I need to worry about.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BxJvk6

My general budget for my PC was around $800 (not including monitor).

EDIT: I've never built a PC before, please don't flame me. I don't have much money because of the current situation so that's my budget.

EDIT: Taking this over to PCPartPicker's forums for more support on cooling and whatnot, thanks for the help here

the main parts of this are looking pretty good, (gpu cpu ram storage) psu will be fine, could save money on a cheaper case. would recommend looking at recent monitor reviews for gaming. the vg248 whatever is really old, and you can get better colors nowadays. also think it's overpriced at $250, look around a bit more, i think you can find 144hz for cheaper.

EDIT: Took out monitor since I know nothing about them and have a 21:9 monitor anyways.

Changed: CPU, RAM, and Storage

CPU is better, and has a better cooler

RAM is faster

Storage is cheaper

Better CPU with more wattage incase you need to upgrade at some point

I like @bat's build better, but I think you can get a better CPU for just 10 dollars more or so.

EDIT2: Changed to 2060 and Ryzen 3600 and stole bat's monitor suggestion

my budget for the PC was 800 not including the monitor but ill look into this, thank you for the suggestion!

You could probably get away with swapping out the GPU to get under $800, but we were just assuming if you were willing to spend 1100 total with the monitor, you could get away with shifting some of the cost to PC instead. I assumed you will just be playing CSGO like the rest of the community, but a 1660/1660 SUPER/1660ti will be perfectly fine for CSGO. You would even be good with an RX 580, and those are around $170.

i’m most likely gonna stick to a 1660 super or ti and I most likely will not switch my video card to and due to the amount of horror stories i heard about amd driver issues. as a new builder, i really don’t want to panic if the thing doesn’t post/fucks up. my old pc with amd cpu/gpu got fucked up by the latest amd driver install, where my fps halved on everything and over a million people had the same issue and had to back paddle to adrenalin 2019. i’ve received countless black/blue screens because of this. i’d do a complete uninstall with ddu and reinstalled my old drivers.

just a bit paranoid of that type of thing happening :>

The driver issues are because of new cards/architecture. The 5700XT had issues on launch, but since it's been out for 10 months the driver issues are pretty much nonexistent now. I wouldn't worry about driver problems unless you're buying a brand new series of card. You also need to consider survivor bias, where the vast majority of people never experienced problems and a subset of people flooded reddit and other places blowing it up; and then content creators jumped on a new bandwagon for content and clicks.
