I really don't get why this game is getting shit on so badly. I've been enjoying it a lot. I know lots of people enjoying it too.

I think to some level Bethesda could of done way better, but I'm still enjoying the game immensely.

Maybe because it isn't a good game. The engine they are using is old and out dated, it can't properly run the games on it. The graphics will not load in or be terrible especially on console and the reason for using this engine as Todd himself said is because it is easier. It's easier to use a outdated engine than spend reasources and time to make a new engine. The fact that Edler scrolls 6 will be on this engine scares me because this engine cannot run next gen games but they won't make a new one. The quests are mostly or only fetch quests which is lazy going from one place doing something and going back over and over again just for some currency is tedious. Compared to the missions in fallout 3/4 it doesn't even come close to the variety and scale that some had. The "dedicated" servers are terrible some people can't play the game because the second they try and start they constantly get disconnected. at least they're is an offline play oh wait there isn't so if the servers are bad or ever go down the game becomes unplayable. Some games work like this like Battle Royale or some others that I can't think of right now. But this game doesn't the offline capibilties allows for you to be able to play with out server interaction so if there is a problem you can just go offline and have no issues, especially with a game with quests a main "story" if you can call it that. Also the absolute laziness is incredible they take a lot of assets form fallout 4 and ported it over down how make a worse game then the game they ripped it from. The final boss , the giant final boss... A dragon that plays and battles exactly like in Skyrim like how do you manage this you take from other games you've made make it worse and ship it out. So many texture and game glitches have arise it props up the question did they even test it? I could see some people enjoying it if it works but for the majority of people who are giving it bad reviews is because of how terribly they went about making the game I would have loved thisgame the concept sounds like an amazing game but Bethesda obviously took a misstep while making this game. Because of the immense amount of problems that arised when this game came out. Wrote on phone so excuse any grammatical mistakes.

I think you misinterpreted them a lot. The main reason they are using an old engine is because they did not need to create a whole new one. Instead they just modified the one they had to fit Fallout 76, as stated here. You talk a lot on how it is "easier" for them to do this and how it makes them lazy. But to be honest, I don't think it makes them lazy at all; I think it lets them spend more time on the map and getting the game out ASAP. You also talk a lot on the fact that they copy from "Their" other games. While I will admit that is true, majority of what they copy are great features and fan loved things. Such as the "dragon" you mentioned. I assume you are talking about the boss that comes in the center of a zone that has just been nuked.

Now to talk about how their servers are bad and don't run correctly. Bethesda had to create millions of 12 slot servers and testing serves, then had to run them all at the same time, while making sure they run smooth with NPCs, enemy mobs, and PvP. Most of those things have never been seen before in a Fallout game let alone any game, meaning it is the first time that this has been done. I would say that yes there are some shitty glitches and yes they ran the game to market so soon after beta they didn't give themselves much time to work. But all in all when factoring all the things they had to accomplish in such a short period of time, they did pretty well. That is not even mentioning the player camps, building, loading in player specific quests, and having server specific mob spawns; let alone tracking all of it.

Started playing it again. How the fuck is it still so broken? I really don't think the DLC is gonna fix it either. It's amazing how badly they fucked this up.

They got their money, they don't care.

I love the Fallout series, but this one was a huge letdown.

Did they really though? 'sales are down 82.4 per cent compared with the previous game in the franchise - 2015's Fallout 4.' Those are confirmed numbers from Bethesda based not on overall sales, but on the launch itself. Not to mention the fact Fallout 4 retained its price for years, hell if I was like new and wanted to buy a good Fallout that didn't give me some sort of incurable cancer I'd still have to stroll over to steam and pay 30 dollars. A month after fucking release people were selling it for less than that just to get rid of all the extra copies as they saw Bethesda net worth plummeting.

Plus, if you look at what is the new model of the gaming-business world, you basically develop a free game that has tons of micro-transactions people are willing to waste their money on, or you develop a reasonably priced 40-60 dollar game with the promise of quality content and future content for lets call it another 40 dollars a year (i.e. yearly passes etc.). Yeah good luck selling that Bethesda.
