Holy fuck this is still going on? When I got banned it was like 3-4 pages now its at 11?!?!?! Read through a lot of this and man what a clusterfuck of back and forth this has brought on. The facts are written many times in many posts, a lot of people have the right idea. Phoenix, Spiritwind, Deli, Gator, Extreme, Karma, Kable, Huwa and even Jazzy with his ENTIRE PAGE RESPONSE has some things of merit in there. [But for real compress that shit down next time] Mind you I almost guarantee a response from Caution and or Dominic is in the works in a separate announcement from this post and I am curious on what the blanket coverage statement for this will be for this climactic event transpiring here. I used to be a board member here, I enjoyed being in that position and for the majority of the time enjoyed working with Dom and Caution albeit the three of us have very different perspectives on almost everything. I have tasted and experienced what it is like to be in to top spot here and its not fun nor would I recommend anyone without the ability to argue for something they truly believe in to try and be a BD period. The reason I stepped down is completely work related but that said, I did leave with some influence that I would NEVER be able to argue a point across to Caution and Dominic as a tag team. Until those two and the rest of the board finish their chats we ain't gonna hear much. Who knows maybe this gets buried and forgotten but really would anyone who is active staff, a returning member, now banned ex staff member or even myself really give two shits about what comes of this in the weeks following the end of this pointless banter? If you do congratulations you are officially the 1% of people who remember and care about this place. Matter of the fact is the BOARD needs to take action and relatively quickly now more then ever, cause man after this thread I would positively say the timer is definitely ticking on the life span of SG. Phoenix said it best in and earlier response on this thread ideas are just gonna pile up here and not actually have anything done about them. I left in good spirits here hoping that some wisdom I shared would help pave a path or at least influence a mindset that is actually conducive to bettering a damaged community. I don't have the exact words but it went something like this. "Focus on what we can be, not what we are" And unfortunately we stayed the exact same as I left. My final point is if multiple members of the community have the gall to name drop who is the problem it is completely delusional to write off their points as them being salty and just showing hate to the individuals. Every point that is legitimately brought to the table is a point worth weighing. End of the day folks, none of you will care 6 months down the line what transpired here. I genuinely think the community has been through the ringer enough and no matter what you do now, taking the plunge in one direction is the only answer I can see to salvage any sort of traction to recovery. There is a ton of things every staff member has shortcomings in people thrive in different settings and bring things to the table that as much say they do bring needed to be respected and considered more before damaging decisions were made. I am positive that every +1 former BD in here has argued about a point that they don't think something is a good idea, they lose the vote/argument and it comes to bite us in the ass weeks/months later. When I was first promoted to CA the talk about becoming Discord only community was the aim given to us by Bom for a solid 2 years and the transitions we're coming out and keeping everyone active enough and busy. That magic was there and solidified group effort of wanting a common goal it was awesome seeing everyone put the effort in, have a server full of players admins and higher ups. Truly a time to around and make influential decisions. I still believe that discord is your hail Mary if you were to finally let the forums go and be in the back of your mind and plunged fully into it. That effort or coordination is gonna be tough given the current state of staff. If Dominic and Caution remember when I first got promoted one of the first things I brought up was pushing the discord. It is our hub now. The people on the discord more actively reflect who is around more so then the forums but that said, don't let your forums go, a lot of people like Revenga and Nishok have put lots of time and effort trying to make this place more functional and better in general and that work has merit. I just think the forum needs to take a backseat and that all your staff should be focused on the discord. People who use this place are more then free to use it but should be made aware that your effort and backbone is gonna be in the discord if you want to get into the meat and potatoes of the community. I think a big problem with the drive and completion of tasks is the branching out. You got too many people generating ideas and working on too many things and nothing gets done. If everyone were to come together and the boards delegated and assigned groups of people to handle say "Recruitment/Events and Technical/Administration for example" that would allow you to have each of your board members respectively oversee an area with a group of people whos sole job is one of the four things I mentioned. Overall I think a lot of this thread has generated tons to talk about for the board. maybe if we're lucky we can try to gather a bunch of these individuals to help steer the community in a better direction then it is. I definitely applaud the sincerity in Dominic replies but it would be nice to see more then just a SINGLE board member posting.

Think the point that hits hardest to me here was the fact that we aren't a community. Jazzy is 100% correct in saying this. How are we gonna boast servers when we can't even get our discord on track. Which is entirely community based. Focus on gathering people for events and fotm games right now there's a fuck ton of big games coming out why not capitalize on the fact people will be playing them. If you commit to events and active population in the discord I'm sure you'll see results follow.

It's that time boys. It's been a good run at SG I've been here for almost 4-5 years now and the experience has been amazing. I got to meet incredible people spend some of the most hilarious moments with people who I can confidently call my good friends. I'm not gonna go on a spur about all you crazy people but Imma tag all the real ones who have been through it with me. @Charliere @Greggy G @Black Rain @Reid99 @kabLe @delirium @Trazz @Maniac @ThRza All y'all were rock solid to work with and it was a pleasure getting to have some of my most memorable moments at SG with you truly appreciate you all and if I'm not already we gotta keep in touch. I'd love to stay on as BD but life has been going a mile a minute and things have been escalating in my career very quickly. For those who don't know what I do now, I am now recently promoted a Project Manager at my company now which oversees quoting projects and scheduling of those same projects with the necessary guys. It's a huge step up for me and I am excited to see where it takes me in my professional career. To leave a parting word of wisdom to everyone who is sticking it out with SG. Look to the future as a blank canvas, our history is full of rocky bumps and steep hills. Aim to make it a plateau anyone can come in and be apart of in the easiest way possible. Everyone has a voice and everyone has something of value to provide whether it be time or advice. SG will always hold a place in my memories and I won't be completely disappearing anytime soon. I wish the board the very best with the future and don't be afraid to ask me personally for advice or a second opinion. It's been good everyone see you on the flip side. Cheers
