  2. Neat
  3. I know you're gonna be taking this one home ya filthy baiter
  4. This is a good point in regards to the newer and more casual players, but from the perspective of someone who enjoys playing scrim more competitively, a third party account is a non-issue. I also don't think there's any evidence that it would just kill the whole scrim community entirely. Additionally, the unique appeal of scrim is to play competitive matches against people within SG; I simply am not convinced a FACEIT account is a big enough hurdle to discourage people from wanting to play vs people within SG. Respectable concern, but from experience I've almost never run into problems that were fuckups caused by FACEIT. In the rare occasions where there were problems, the updates were quite fast. I've never run into this problem where people ruin other people's experiences by taking the game too seriously purely because stats were added. People don't take stats seriously enough (beyond bragging rights and banter) for it to be a problem unless the stats can earn them something i.e. prizes. In fact, I've played in hubs where there were prizes for leaderboard placement and the attitudes of players weren't problematic by any means. The serious players were still serious, the casual players were still casual. As far as I'm aware, there isn't any real risk of running a FACEIT hub. If it's unsuccessful we can just go back to scrim server with no consequences.
  5. I guess that qualifies as a leaderboard by definition. Here are what FACEIT Hub leaderboards look like: https://i.gyazo.com/15b9e47717c7ed559e0866b61fc4e2ad.png https://i.gyazo.com/1ef1b8bd82f2faefd7449a7f556ad25a.png Leaderboards are also reset every season. I'm not sure what you're implying by stating something I've already answered. Also see point 7 in original post. I'm not sure why our server password is a relevant point. Again, see point 7 in original post. There's no debate on whether or not scrim server and hub can keep trolls out; they both definitely can.
  6. I agree it doesn't need to be replaced. I said that it could be replaced. Possibly true, but I don't believes that's a problem as the people leaving the scrim server will migrate to the FACEIT hub for the same experience but with arguably better functionality. I agree, FACEIT hubs can be made this way as well (invite only and not open to the general public) I agree, but the scrim server doesn't have as much functionality as a FACEIT hub (see points 1-4 in original post)
  7. I explained how the FACEIT hub is different from the scrim server. I also personally believe that it could replace the scrim server entirely (speaking from experience of using FACEIT hubs).
  8. Here is a short page on what a FACEIT Hub is: https://support.faceit.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001899624-What-is-a-Hub- I'm suggesting this as it is a very good way for us to play competitive 10-mans. "How is this different from the scrim server? 1. Hubs have leaderboards, statistics tracking, seasons of variable duration. 2. Starting a game just requires you to queue up, once 10 people are in queue, map and player picking will begin. 3. Very easy to manage game and hub settings such as player pick order, map ban order, penalties, captains, leaderboards/seasons, etc through FACEIT website/client. 4. Players cannot change names and skill is visible to everyone https://i.gyazo.com/22f3e1934ff3282ff8711d5c0161a291.png, very useful for captains picking balanced teams. 5. Roles that work similar to roles in Discord. Useful for assigning people captain priority, for example. 6. Map pool is limited to 9 maps; dust2, inferno, cache, overpass, mirage, train, nuke, cbble, season. 7. FACEIT Hubs can be made invite-only (so only SG members can play, no password required), free to join and maintain. 8. Each team has 4 x 30 second pauses (2 minutes total) per game. 9. Automated penalties for leavers/disconnects (can be overrided). 10. Multiple games can be played at the same time. 11. FACEIT has integrated game recording; a demo of every game can be downloaded once the game finishes. If you have any questions about details of hubs I can answer them. I've also created a dummy FACEIT Hub as a proof of concept, most of the settings in it are customizable. Here is an invite link: https://www.faceit.com/en/inv/xaNa0ZU (You will need a FACEIT account to join)
  9. i think my cpu exploded
  10. you kids dont stand a chance
  11. I played this game a lot over the summer, and am currently still playing. Wondering if there's anyone from SG who would like to join me from time to time? IGN: bal1ist0 In case you might want to play, http://store.steampowered.com/app/230410/
  12. Kids making up new rules. Warning shots are needed all the time unless you're last ct.
