  1. Mortal kombat 11

honestly, im syked as fuck for the DLC since its possible that ash "groovy" williams is gonna be a character! but for now, jade and scarlet are looking clean as fuck along with geras. im interested to see how people use his time-altering abilities to change up the flow of battle since grapplers are notorious for being zoned out, now he can just drop 30 seconds from the clock with the life lead and force others into engaging. also his rewind really makes for interesting counterplay, like someone punishes his jump in, rewinds, then its up to the opposer to read the rewind and make a plan for attack. all in all, skyed as fuck for all of this!!
  2. oh sorry about that, i must have read it wrong or something, lmao now that it's been clarified, i do believe that while giving players a heads-up on the oddities of the server is important, i still find it should be more the responsibility of the players to inform themselves of these rules rather than coaxing the information in a way that may be unnatural to the feel and function of the server. if i can recall, there were a few points brought across some of the community meetings about the feel of our jailbreak not wanting to follow in the steps of places like XG with unnecessary and minimal popups for players to encounter as they play. i may just be dated, but if this still reigns true, then an addition of an extra menu for whenever a CT feels to prompt it maybe just become a bit much for some players and all-in-all be more of a hassle for cts to customarily do this every time they wish to do a deathgame. not to imply this would never happen, but knowing how some ct players are a lot less involved in giving orders as often, it would be natural that the command would see use in scares times where more attentive cts would join.
  3. personally, i do think the "!tips" idea could just be implemented into the "!rules" section or just replace it as the ingame guide while rules would redirect to a prompt to the forum rules. there seems to be a bit of a divide to where the rules in the ingame "!rules" aren't as updated as the rules being implemented, so im confident just revamping the format to be more user-friendly will also come with updating the rules for the most relevant rules being readily available for easy access to it.
  4. from what i've seen, on some servers like XG and Swoobs, its a rule to not speak over the warden, with XG going the extra measure and within the warden's menu, there is a force mute feature that last only a certain amount of time. while personally, i do believe we're in a bit of an odd situation with implementing something of that degree with multiple orders being broadcasted over each other at times, i personally think maybe a rule change of how cts can give orders and when might serve for a difference in gameplay, yes, but also provide the moments of peace and structurt that OP says is needed with the player-count im not sure how or what these rules could be, but in general focusing on the concept of cts giving orders i feel is a good compromise along with the rule we already have in place for "All Ts off mic".
  5. alrighty, lemme just get serious real quick so i can kinda explain a few things ive seen within jailbreak as a whole gamemode, across platforms. I'm gonna start of with the obvious "no-shit" statement of the server, as Haxor states appropriately: I'd elaborate that SG has a glorified version of a death-match server, that just changes around some aspects of the teams and I know I've said this before and stated it numerous times, but I do feel it is important to state that with my 5+ years of experience with playing, administrating, etc. on JB servers across CSS, GMOD, CSGO, and TF2 Steam Gamer's version of Jailbreak is not Jailbreak in the conventional sense and it is more based off the actual game of the game-mode that is a death-match based source engine game, Jailbreak: Source. The fundamentals of the game are not nearly the same as the custom game-mode that is most commonly associated with the name, Jailbreak, and as a whole is pivotal to creating rules and other structures around the game. I'll get back to why this is important later, I just needed to put this upfront. Going back to the topic of SG, the server has always been a niche market for jailbreak players that I've known of from other communities and I can't argue that "because it's different, that means it bad" because that's obviously false. What I will argue though is that from this version we play, we run into two issues of large importance to running a proper jailbreak sever: - Lack of order and structure from not having one or two predominate players giving orders instead of everyone at anytime (besides first order). - A lessened of goal for Guards due to only rebelling Prisoner's being able to be killed. I'm going to be blunt, if SG wants to run a modded death-match and call it Jailbreak, so be it, I still play it and I still have my fun on it by running around like a total numb-skull, however, if we're considering to add back in a feature of traditional jailbreak, then you need to add the rest of the package in. The rest of the package being a warden or deputy or rotating warden system in someway... (Something that limits who is giving orders and when). And I know from a technical standpoint, that isn't going to work out from previously talking to Dominic about it, but from a game-play aspect, it simply doesn't work as well as it should either from the standpoint of "who's going to give the death-game" or "when can we" or "when not". Simply put, its a tremendous lot more effort to organize a system to avoid errors and mess ups in something that doesn't have structure to begin with. Rather than just organizing the system to begin with. I know that was confusing, so I'll explain. What we have now is roughly 9 - 12 Guard players a time giving orders at any point (besides first-order) as long as they "do not conflict with the previous order". Sounds alright, but how many times does this work out? How many times have you heard someone give a freeday, the someone revokes it a second later, then someone says "run to so-and-so area and freeze"? And would this work with death-games exactly, one Guard says to play break-floor, but another says it's a free-day, and then another says something else? And, yes I'm aware you can simply add in a rule where "Once a death-game is started, orders may not be given.", but then you get into the issue of someone saying the order as possible to get the death-game going. Then you need a rule to state when it is allowed to give a death-game. From there you get people abusing this, yelling out the order over each other at the time that's available to do so and then no one hears it! This is what I mean about it being more work to organize a system with no structure in it. It's like sorting out blocks of different colors and shapes from different sources all at one time and making a house out of them, maybe a robot or in theory this works, but there needs to be a practical view-point to it all. There needs to be an awareness of what our demographic of players would do and how they might do it and yes, while no matter what rules are made, there will almost always be a loophole, it's not about removing a loophole that wont ago away, its about lessening the hole itself so its less likely to be opened. So, what am I trying to say? It's that currently, with how the server is run and the rules we have in place, death-games do not work. Regardless for how much I personally enjoy death-games being a feature to add in more goal-concentric game-play rather than a death-match, it needs to be understood that at the end of the day, SG Jailbreak is a modded death-match and trying in vain to add ideas from the traditional game-mode is not only more difficult because of that, but with how popular this version is to the current player-base, you just gotta' question if it's even worth it at that point. **Edit: I was looking for this video, it's old, yes, but I still feel it's super relevant because of the similarities between current rules and slightly modded rules we have now. Considering that this is how almost every day in Jailbreak is, adding in something this game changing currently just wouldn't mesh well and would need a ton of extra requirements that are difficult, not impossible, but difficult to add and regulate.
  6. i kinda thought this was a meme thread but then found out gummy actually is admin
  7. a madcatz stick and a hitbox?! amazing choices! honestly, i want so badly to make my own hit/mixbox just because i used a keyboard for MUGEN / SF2 and i really do hate joysticks. QCs are so difficult for me and they're basically fundamental if i wanna get anywhere, being able to just two tap QC is a dream, but im wayy too broke to afford one its that and the fact that im getting the drone is cuz my bf is gifting me one, so i dont think i'll mind. my campus' gameroom has a modded one for use with a sanwa JLF stick so i kinda got used to that for a bit, even if the buttons are pretty dang loud... thanks for the tip though, hopefully i'll get enough money someday to mod it / get a better stick, but i think modding will come first tbh. tis the life of a broke fighting games player, but im sure i'll get some mileage out of this for my first stick
  8. hey, was wondering if anyone has or is a FG player looking to train or just mess around in SFV, Tekken 7, or GGXRev, if anyone had it im getting my first fightstick soon, a qaunba drone, so im pretty hype about and it would love to get some tips or training matches with some folks also, thoughts on Kage (evil ryu) in SFV now? his mixups are looking to be quite interesting, so i think theres either going to be a lot of akuma mains switching to to him or ryu mains side maining him for the matchup (not like i know shit, im litterally a noob ryu, because im trash tier )
  9. well i think whats being suggested is more of a side option to the scrim server, due to some issues it has and such like the placement status things and the occasional server error with the picking system and all the commands needed. it'd be like a "quality of life" alternative to the scrims! which i'd totally support and all!
  10. wait, normal people actually do that often?? my house is like mainly carpeted and even then we don't take off our shoes all that often in the house unless like ur about to go lay down or undress or whatever... i seriously thought that's something that like strict houses have, like "curfew @ 8" or "church on sundays" or "milk at dinner time" sounds like a midwest type of thing, lmao
  11. im getting my full licence soon, but i don't really think its the best idea since 2/3 cars ive driven either: - got into a massive fender-bender - hit a stop sign (irony at its finest) - or put a hole in the garage, not like a giant hole, but theres a ton of knicks on the sides of the garage we have here but i know im gonna need it soon for work outside of town and classes so im on the fence about it all
  12. holy fucking hell he did it... the mad crazy hick
  13. wellll sorrrry that not everyone plays friggen ttt ya nerd
  14. 'basically, a west side / east side of the tracts type of deal and i was centered on the better side of town.' so wait, how would i fit that in this??
