  1. Me as a DMG with an epathy clan tag and 30 kills.. wow that's a memory lmao. This was a fun blast to the past thanks for sharing, miss playing with you homie.
  2. Things are looking good
  3. Big shoutout to @Nishok @BoTo @jazzy and @triou for all their hard work on this! Looking forward to playing.
  4. Dude, listen.. I understand you have some sort of deep rooted hatred for me. You don't have to make that any more clear. I asked the Directors if they felt Caution and I should step aside, and was legitimately told by Caution to 'absolutely not resign'. I would gladly step aside if that's what people call for, but relevant names. No offense to you, but you came back in 2017 (?), were mostly inactive for a bit as TA, then left again. I hardly know who you are. Even Delirium and Kable with their strong, strong distaste for me are people with opinions I take into major account whenever they speak, and would do so on this. If the current staff is not up in arms about my 'inactivity', 'power hunger', 'tyrannical behavior', or anything else of the sort.. I'm not gonna push back and insist on resigning. Truly, if I did something to you in the past to make you appear out of nowhere after years and harp on me for days, I'd love to apologize.. I'm just not sure where you're coming from at this point. It's getting a little ridiculous now and like eXtr3m3 said, far beyond the point of 'constructive criticism', you're not really giving me any pointers here lol.
  5. I genuinely take no offense to this, and applaud your openness. I feel like it's just a tad bit extreme and I'm also 90% sure you've mixed events up a little bit but I understand your point generally speaking. Majority of your post is criticizing me being unbanned, so obviously I'm not gonna take much offense to something I didn't 'do' necessarily. I fucked up when I was 16 years old, same as a hell of a lot of people that have been here including many that made it to the Board. There is no amount of words you could spew in this thread to make me feel very sad about that to be honest lol. Thanks for understanding that I mean well, because that's the only reason, especially nowadays, that I try to do anything for this place. Believe me - I have a whole life going, the only reason I try to give back to SG is because of how much it gave me, and I'm hoping it can still be alive to give other kids the same experience.
  6. I have too much pride in not being a hypocrite to consciously be one, I'm more than willing to have that conversation - just not gonna respect it coming from an alt account as much as I would someone like yourself. I'm pretty sure you've read the post in the CA section where I legitimately called for Caution and Gator to both resign, which ended up happening not too long after. I'd say things went pretty well from there when Revenga and I ran things while being super active, definitely better than when the people at the top were inactive. This is why in recent months I've posted a few times (one time in that public BD chat I think) about being willing to resign if Caution called for it. I realize my mistake here was that Caution is also inactive currently, so I should've put that offer out to the Board. I've considered it a couple times now, but I just don't think we're in the right spot for me to leave the guys in power directionless. If they themselves call for it, then I'd be more willing for sure. Unless someone has a proposed power structure that makes sense, anyway. I refuse to compromise on someone logging on a VPN and shit talking my 'intelligence and emotional maturity' - nor will I somehow convince myself it has something to do with me that staff feel like they need to hide behind a VPN. I have been open and willing to talk about the hard topics for as long as I can remember. I can be a condescending person sometimes for sure but I'm not about to pawn off some asshole comment as some type of reason for self reflection. Not happening. Anyone who knows me even slightly well knows very well that I'm always an open ear for even the most blunt types of criticism, and I simply won't let anyone convince me otherwise. I've been that way for years now. So if anyone feels as that alt account feels, you can absolutely Discord DM me. Just as you can talk to me as someone that was on the Board, I can talk to you as someone who was also retired at one point. I'm sure you understand it's easy enough to say all the 'things that need change' but not so easy to actually propose what change should happen. Especially because we are so not at the point where 'there's always someone that wants / is able to take your spot' is applicable anymore.
  7. Looooooooool I'll entertain you and your comment when you're man enough to hop off your VPN and announce to everyone which butthurt old staff member you are I'll leave the above post up because obviously I welcome criticism with open arms, I just prefer criticism that comes from a good place and not an inherently and obviously biased place. For instance, @PokeI appreciate you using your voice unapologetically in the Discord recently. Lying and beating around the bush does nothing for anyone. I am admittedly still busy finishing up college in recent weeks, however things are slowly getting easier for me. This whole Discord / forum thing is going to get taken care of swiftly, as Discord work is already in progress on @Karma and I's end. We'd appreciate more and more comments on this though, as regardless of the work we're doing on the server side of things currently, this is still just as important. Thanks for everything thus far, though. Good read. Will probably respond in a better way at some point.
  8. Hey gang, Over the years, forums in general but especially gaming community forums have dwindled as far as their activity / unique nature. Obviously this comes with Discord becoming more popular and pushing features upon features that directly compete with forums like ours. Now, we have no problem utilizing Discord further if need be, however we're curious what you all think about what we should do with the forums and where we should go with the Discord. Should the forums essentially just become a landing page with info about our servers, and threads with essential information? Or should they perhaps stay up but in a much more simplified, dumbed down manner? That also begs the question - what do we do with the Discord, do you want to see it expanded further to replace the features of the forums, or would you prefer a small, easily navigable Discord with just a few channels to speak in? I'd also like to hear your preference vs. what you genuinely believe is the best course of action to promote activity. A few years ago, our forums were averaging 200 visitors a day. Nowadays, it's more around 50. By no means do we plan on shutting down the forums, however with the lower visitor count I'm assuming most people would vote to move our operations over to Discord. I'm just trying to gauge in what capacity you all think would be best for that and what you'd like to see done with this site. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read / respond to this, it truly helps as we rebuild.
  9. Hello everyone, I'm going to save you the normally long and thought out post and instead just offer you a few questions. We're looking for as much feedback we can get on this topic, seeing as it's a big change. Should we rebrand Steam-Gamers entirely? What names do you think make sense? Do you think we should change the colors? This could all be opinion based, or perhaps you have some sort of logic to back it up with. I think our current name has some pros and cons, but if we're going to rebrand and if it makes sense to do so - now's the perfect time. All feedback is appreciated!
  10. Hello everyone, First of all, I know we may sound like a broken record, but I want to once again calm any nerves - Steam-Gamers isn't going anywhere any time soon. Players and staff alike have dwindled, yes, however the launch of CS2 opens up a whole new world of opportunities and potential for us. On that note, the initial launch doesn't look glamorous for communities and community servers.. but we're working with what we've got. @Nishok put in a bunch of work to get a server up and running with a working IP, and @BoTo has been helping tremendously on setup. More information on that specifically will follow extremely soon, but otherwise Valve has screwed community servers pretty hard. As it stands there's little support for them on this new game, and knowing Valve it could take a while to get that. CS:GO servers are essentially dead in the water, as we're not expecting anyone to use the complicated workaround to play our servers. Given this, we will more than likely begin to close down the CS:GO servers and launch up other servers in games like GMod, CS:S, and maybe Rust. We have lots of backups we can use and we can always start fresh on some new projects as well. Doing this will help to maximize any potential player intake to the community while things are stagnant on the CS2 side of things. Though the hope would be that Valve quickly rectifies their fuckups and helps us to get going in that area sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed, but we're going to adjust accordingly given the situation we've been forced into. As far as general community stuff - we may be moving forward with the rebranding thing. No promises, though that's the direction the conversation seemed to be heading a couple weeks back. As long as we find something that makes sense, now's probably the perfect time. @Cautionand I have both been incredibly busy IRL, though my schedule is beginning to clear up tremendously and I believe his will be soon as well. We've been in contact consistently though, and are getting back into the groove of things. Otherwise, big shoutout to the newly promoted Directors for keeping the gears turning in our absence, and all of our other staff and community members that have been putting in work and coming around. As a general PSA to all - we are always interested new in staff members, whether it be admin, server manager, or technical administrator. Please reach out to me directly on Discord if you have any interest in any of this. We're more than happy to take on anyone that's interesting in helping us to get the ship sailing again. Both old and new, of course. We're excited for the future, and we hope you all are as well. Thanks guys!
  11. Always appreciative of your input, and your insight actually sparked some ideas and considerations in my head. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to drop some wisdom on us homie, hope all is going well with you.
  12. I don't have an immense amount of time at this very moment but just touching on the rebranding / new domain thing - 100% agree. I ran rebranding by Caution not too long ago actually, and he was ok with it on the basis that it made sense, which I also agree with. There is a part of me that thinks Steam Gamers is a fitting name but also an attractive name as far as marketing goes, but I can also see the direct opposite side of that. For new domains, I ran a lot of new domains by the BDs just a few weeks ago. We'd probably want to hold off on jumping at new domains with the discussion about rebranding entirely on the table, but I agree with both statements. Really appreciate the thread man, tons of good points. I'll try to make it a point to respond to it all tomorrow, just super busy with moving into school right now.
  13. Hello everyone, As you've seen by the posts, Revenga and Hawks have recently resigned from their positions. It was a pleasure having them around, and it's a shame to lose them. Luckily, Revenga is sticking around in a higher-up position as TA, and will continue to advise the Board and work alongside us. As for the rest of the Board - Caution, eXtr3m3 and I are here to stay. They're both a little busy for the foreseeable future, as am I unfortunately as college approaches. I still have a good chunk of free time to handle the day to day, but we'd like to bring on some help even assuming we were all completely active. This might be the most amount of Directors we've ever promoted in one swing, but we're totally sold on all of them. Caido, Karma, and Zero Two will all be joining us on the Board of Directors. All of these dudes have been around for a very long time, and have served for years as staff members. They've all really stepped up to the plate as of late, and we're looking extremely forward to what they bring to the table. With this new generation of Board members, expect rapid change and growth, because their passion runs deep and we're prepared to make some pretty big moves. While we're still looking to the future and hoping for CS2 to release soon, we haven't pumped the brakes and you can expect some promising announcements soon. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and love for Steam-Gamers, and congratulations to these gentlemen!
  14. I was thinking about buying this prebuilt one from NZXT, anyone know anything about the company or have any thoughts on the build vs. the price? My computer is from 2016 and it still does everything I need it to, but it's starting to get a little slow. https://nzxt.com/product/player-one-prime Seems like a monumental upgrade from what I have for a pretty reasonable price.
  15. Thank you again to all the tech guys for getting this fixed, wouldn't be able to do a lot of things without you guys.
