  1. I fucking knew it, you are way too nice to be human. I knew it all along. You must come from that same planet Storm comes from (Canada) where voices are never raised and the worse thing that could happen to you is a slap on the wrist. OT : Can't wait for the CSGO JB. I'd definitely play more GO if SG had some GO servers. I hope SG ZM/ZE for GO happens as well.
  2. E3 2014

Hyrule Warriors looked cool, as did Xenoblade Chronicles X and Evolve. Smash 4 looked meh. Those were the only titles I managed to catch. Did any Battlefront 3 stuff come up other than that one developer video?
  3. Game Soundtracks

Thanks for reminding me how amazing the Perfect Dark OST was. Such a good goddamned game. Here's another gem from oldschool Rareware (specifically Grant Kirkhope, you genius you) : [video=youtube;nkN3zZ-WEYo]
  4. Stacking MF is virtually worthless now as only 10% of your MF gets applied to legendary drops. So even if you somehow got the 300% cap (which is nigh impossible without legacy gear), you'd only have an additional 30% chance to the base legendary drop rate (which could be as low as 1% for all we know). The only way to increase your chance at a set item is to sacrifice something to an Old God or whoever your deity of choice is. There's no targeted drops anywhere other than the legendary crafting mats. The best way to farm is to just spam T1 rifts with a group, as they have an additional 100% legendary drop rate as Lupin pointed out. There's also no point to do higher torments unless you can clear them as fast as T1, since the increase in difficulty isn't worth it for the minimal increased MF.

  6. I'd drop out and become a DJ, or a drug dealer, or both. I'm not in your place though so go be a lawyer or whatever.
  7. There was a suggestion earlier this year (or was it late last year?) about removing the rank system from PB. As far as I know it was rejected. Judging from the resistance you've received so far in this thread, I'd say the people that find delaying the round to be a problem the minority. Granted only a handful of people have replied in this thread and I'm sure that at least 70% of the PB playerbase doesn't even have a forum account, so you're likely to never get an accurate sample size. Still, I play PB quite frequently and I think it's safe to assume that most people might complain about delaying but no one really cares enough to try and get such a rule pushed (myself included).
  8. Just gonna expand on this as I just noticed I didn't really discuss it in my original post. For the TF2 fun server it's not so much the plugins so much as it is the map rotation. A good map rotation is much more appealing than good plugins. In fact I'd be willing to bet that most players prefer vanilla gameplay anyway. Still, there are some quality of life plugins that could be utilized to attract players that don't really disrupt the gameplay too much (such as having a 24/7 halloween mode plugin). I could come up with a starter list of maps as well as some plugins to consider if requested. As for DotA, I did mention a couple in my previous post and I could easily list a dozen more. It feels rather futile though as unless you guys have been considering it for a while or feel really strongly about it, that it's probably best just to wait and see about the map editor release. There would be no point for you guys to work hard on setting up your own custom servers only to have the map editor be released a week later.
  9. I think the main reason the SG TF2 server failed was because it was payload. Payload is probably one of the more favored gamemodes, especially in pubs, however SG jumped on the payload train about 5 years too late. The idea seemed good on paper, but since there were already thousands of dedicated payload servers already up with good player counts the only way for the SG server to succeed would be for SG regulars to just camp the server 24/7 until other players recognize it as a server that has a decent player count. That's why I suggested the fun server, as currently it feels like an untapped market that SG could tap into. There's only a few around, yet if you search Google they appear to be in demand with a lot of the first page results linking to threads asking for good fun servers (now imagine if SG's server was linked on the first page instead). This is something that's thrown around a lot but no one seems to take seriously. Sure after a new server comes up the hype gets people to join for the first week or two but then after the hype dies out people lose interest. It takes dedicated people to try and fill the servers up for them to truly thrive, like what Nishok and Silent (among others) did with the NS2 servers.
  10. I don't think so. Currently the biggest complaint I always see in lobbies is that the queue times during peak hours can get ridiculous. People spend 5-10 minutes just waiting for their lobby to get filled up only to have to sit in queue for another 5-10 minutes (and god help you if someone leaves). If SG provided servers with no or at least more reasonable queue times then they'd clearly be the favorite. Ya I think it's safe to say that with the map editor release Valve will also add a server browser for third party servers. Like I said if SG were to be one of the first to run popular mods from the WC3 days, it's almost guaranteed to be a hit.
  11. This is probably a joke post but I've been contemplating it for a while with all the doomsday talk going around and it could work. If SG is looking to grow DotA 2 is probably the best way for it to do so. It's been the top game played on Steam for a while now and almost always has at least 100k current players. Obviously there's the matter of Valve running all the servers but if SG did something similar to D2ware where you guys made your own custom servers with custom plugins it could work. I play D2ware pretty regularly and there's almost always at least a couple lobbies going on with at least 200 or so current players (and I usually play pretty late at night). This would require people who know their way around Sourcemod though to create the plugins and manage them. You guys could maybe even get affiliated with D2ware as currently they're just a service, not really a community. They have no type of forum or ways of communicating or getting together other than a singular email address that belongs to the developers. Obviously it wouldn't be simple or easy to do, but it's worth at least mentioning I think. The DotA 2 map editor is rumored to be coming out soon as well and with it most likely means third party servers. If SG were to be one of the first to run a server running favored maps such as Pudge wars, I think it could be huge. Old school WC3 players have been dying for the map editor to be released so they could play custom content officially, as many are either unaware of D2ware or simply refuse to use it. I'm almost 100% certain that as soon as the map editor gets released that the first couple of servers to spring up will be full almost constantly. Another thing I'd love to see come back is a TF2 server. I know that in the past it hasn't worked out, but you can't neglect the numbers TF2 still manages to pull on a daily basis. Despite being over 6 years old it still manages over 50k players a day, and is most often at least top 3 on Steam. I think a different approach this time could result in a successful TF2 server. Last time iirc SG had a 24/7 payload server, but I believe if we tried a fun server (aka minigames server) it could work out nicely. If you check gametracker, you'll find that there's not too many dedicated fun servers out there. If SG ran one with a good map rotation and good plugins, I think it could be much more successful than another one of the million other payload servers. If it does come to pass that SG does start up another TF2 server, regardless of what type it is, I promise to try and help populate it as I recently came back to TF2 and still have some friends that play regularly.
