As far as I can think of for some of these questions. Popular KZ servers are based on smooth and ironed out consistent servers with no lag issues etc. which I'm sure SG can take care of. As far as player count, this can be established for more popular well-known communities (like ours) Late night servers that contain high pop that I noticed are KZ/Surf/Bhop (our bhop server included) Gameplan, hard for me to answer because I'm not sure what SG's limitations are and what are requirements for server launches are. Any gaps or anything, nothing I can think of off the top of my head, This is definitely a step in the right direction.

I feel like this regard is similar to scroll bhop style. New players to bhop would have a difficult time completing a map with scroll. That is where practice would come in and different tier maps could impact this. Being able to beat higher tier maps with no TP could regard in more points for a higher rank or bragging rights.

I love all the ideas you mentioned. Only thing I would like to input of my own is having one map, having it feel repetitive would maybe discourage some people. Definitely add different tiers of maps, and we could always start with smaller pools of maps for the MGT/Test Run. Thanks for the reply!

The only downfall I see to this being an MGT, I was discussing this with @ThRza in TS. Having to place records on an MGT server then wipe your stats when the "real release comes out" for KZ, this could demotivate others. However, I did suggest that if we were to do MGT, we could backup the server at the end of the event and being able to launch the KZ server using the so called "back up" that way everyone's record and etc. could be saved. Not an original idea, I know for a fact this idea has been on the waters. I just would like to see if this could be given a little more attention on the table and hear from the community what everyone thinks about having an SG KZ server with map records, long jump stats, etc. Making this post to see what everyone's thoughts and opinions.
