wireless internet range

my boarding school has a wireless internet, cool you might think, but it stops right infront of the door to my room. is there anyway i can get a connetion. and please dont come with sugestions for the router, i have no controle over it, only my laptop. i was thinking of some kind of satelitedich

either buy a mobile network usb connector, which gives you totally wireless internet.

or buy those plug things, where you plug it into the wall next to the router and its got a RJ45 connector in it that connects to the router, then have one next to your desk/bed and plug in a cat-5 cable.

2. Swap rooms

3. Move your computer outside the room.

4. Deal with it.

yeah, ur pretty screwed. most schools that have wireless still have the ethernet jacks in the room... bring it up with the tech guys there or switch rooms.
