This competition does not start until the 25th November 2008, it will end on the 20th December 2008.

We are giving you this thread now, so you have plenty of time to get ready for this competition.

*DRUM ROLL*

The Gingerbread house competition!!!!!!!

You have to design, bake and create a gingerbread house, to prove that you've created the gingerbread house, you have to put a PIECE OF PAPER in front of the house with your NAME on it.

Once you've done it, take a picture and upload it to this thread.

Use your imagination, you can add what you want to it, as long as it's an edible object.

Recipe; ( You do not have to use this recipe, this is just to give you an idea )

Ingredients

2 cups of plain flour

1 cup soft brown sugar

2 teaspoons of ground ginger

1 small teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda

4 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon golden syrup

1 cup of milk

(see measure conversions for more information)

Method

- Melt the butter in the milk and dissolve the sugar in it.

- Leave to cool.

- Add the dry ingredients with the bicarbonate added last.

- Beat well.

- Bake in a moderate oven (around 160 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for about an hour or until firm to touch.

- Cool in the tin, then remove when cold.

Ok so I didnt make the gingerbread man. I bought him cause I tryed four or five times to make him and it didnt work out.

I did on the other hand make the tree, and the house.

The layout tray was 4 for a dollar at the dollar store and the icing (white, green, yellow) was all homemade.

Took me about 5 or 6 hours but its done.

Thanks to roommates lol

I decided to enter, I hope this doesn't stress the rules to much. I did *NOT* buy this and I decorated and made the chocolate molds myself.

The house with my name.

This is my first attempt at a (non-standard) gingerbread house.

ALL items used in this house are edible. I can provide a list of what was used if needed.

And yes.. I put stairs, railings, a ladder, and other shite inside.. not sure why since you can't see it when it was done.

My favorite parts of the house (those that turned out the same way I imagined them) the root and chimney.

I have a ton more photos.. and didn't finish it as well as I would have liked.. I ran out of time.

The ruler gives you an idea of the size of the house.
