  1. Dude, Dom, you've come a long way. Remembered when you first joined SG. Now, you've went red, got permed, and red again. Leading community meetings. It's always great to see some old names and voices. It's great to see SG still going after so many years. I still visit from time to time, may see about helping boost playercount soon. Also, anyone is more than welcome to add/message me here or on discord. Great meeting team~
  2. GOKUUUUUUUU

  3. Dad come home please

  4. I legitimately forgot about the deadline and got busy. Sorry I had to miss this one!
  5. Congrats Delirium~
  6. Hoo boy, SilentGuns is AO again! Congrats all!
  7. Bread, I've seen your name since I first got here, from Reg to AO. You are one of the best. Welcome to LG, you are truly one of us.
  8. Maybe if someone could convince me to come back to CS, I'd do more videos on that again. But, for now, here is some Black Squad~
  9. Going to be working that day, bummer. I've really gotten into VRchat as well. Fun stuff.
  10. Gaming Music

We have a sticky specifically for game soundtracks. 95% of them don't suck. https://www.steam-gamers.net/forum/showthread.php?t=44467
  11. Small request, but having a Uplay icon that links to your profile would be great, especially since you have no choice but to use it if you play any Ubisoft game. Thank you~
  12. I've used Teamspeak/Ventrillo/Mumble longer than discord, however, nowadays I'm leaning towards discord. I use Discord on a daily basis for gaming, communication, and chatting. I'm a growing streamer, and without a (functioning) website, it's the best place for myself, staff, and fans to keep each other updated, and communicate clearly. The ability to post text, links, and photos in a decent looking GUI is both attractive and informative. Not to mention, it's easy for everyone to do what they need to do. In terms of SG's wants/needs for discord, I can see some downsides. With discord, everything is ran through their servers, compared to TS where it is run through your own servers. From what I've logged nowadays, Discord almost never goes down completely, if at all. There are plenty of other servers to chat/talk on if need be. Discord cannot afford it seeing business ties. I'm getting tired of writing a wall of text, so let's do some pros and cons of Discord, because everyone knows what TS is. Pros: -Client Download unnecessary. If wanted, you could use it completely from a web browser. Great for PC newbies. -No knowledge needed to setup an server, or join one. Send link and the person can join. With or without the client. -Modern chat GUI and GUI in general. It's clean, and can be modified for your needs with stock settings, or a bit of coding. -Video Chat, mind you this is a friend-to-friend benefit that comes with Discord, and cannot be done randomly with anyone who isn't an added friend. I was invited to try this beta feature before it was released, and I had a lot of fun with it. -Crowd Control/Channel Tree Handling. Need to contact/notify/ban a certain group of individuals? It's simple, and you can custom tweak their individual settings. Add even more functionality when you introduce bots. -In game overlay. It's clean, causes no latency, and you can figure out who is speaking with a quick glance. I personally love the way this runs and works with R6 Siege, especially when I'm playing with a new ally. -Mobile App. Discord is free, TS is cheap. With how often people are on their phones, I can see discord being a more attractive option. -Webhooks. You can use Discord's webhooks to send any code merge or push updates in a repository of yours into a text channel in your server. It does what it says on the tin, if you have the knowledge to use it. Mixed: -Discord is Free, Teamspeak is free, as a capitalist, this simply cannot do. -Cloud based server. This is both a pro and a con. When Discord was first released, the whole service was offline for hours because of a cloud/server error with their google servers. It's more vulnerable to DDOS/Hacks Security. This is a broad topic, but security in discord is usually the same everywhere else. If someone is causing a problem, an admin can address it. You can do a lot in discord, such as only allow someone who has been added to the server to wait a certain amount of time before being able to type a message or a join a channel. The messaging and voice is encrypted with their servers, but it is not end-to-end encrypted. -Audio Quality. In TS you can change the audio codec for the quality you are looking for. However, this can lag the server for everyone else. In Discord, there is only one codec, but you can change the quality of the channels without server latency. However, it can be difficult for someone located on the other end of the planet to hear you if they have a slow/poor quality connection. Cons: -Private voice channels. As a regular, you won't be able to make private channels like you can in TS. Yes, you can makes voice channels that only allow certain roles in, such as an AO channel for AO+, but you cannot make private channels with password access. Unless you have the permission to make channels/delete them, it won't be the same as it is for TS. -Compared to TS, with it's high customizability with addons, plugins, iconpacks, style-packs, soundpacks, etc., it's a bit of a letdown that discord doesn't make it easy to modify these things. Technically, you can (With UI, and sounds), it's just takes a bit more computer knowledge. You can add addons/plugins through bots, but only with discords embedded commands. I've used a ton of different communication platforms, from IRC and BBC to Discord and Slack. For gamers and the like, Discord offers a ton of functionality and ease of use from the newfag to memelord. At the same time, TS works, and you can run it on your own server. Sadly, it is being forgotten, and more and more people are straying from TS to Discord. I still use both, but I use TS rarely compared to Discord. In my eyes, it would be a lot easier regulars to introduce new friends to SG using discord, increasing active player-base. Not to mention, the huge opportunity you have with text channels. SG loves their shoutbox, it would be like having multiple shoutboxes for all sorts of topics and subjects. I have 2 populated servers, help run/admin 3 others, and are a part of 25+ large, active communities. If AO+ have questions, feel free to hit me up. If I missed any key points, let me know in this thread.

They don't call him two-timing for nothing. Honestly, I doubt this will change anything for his fanbase, or career. If anything, the break he takes will do more damage than this news. Never was a huge fan, but he had his moments in character. He's making the right move taking a break to attempt to fix his mistake, but it's going to be a stigma on him for the rest of his career. Broke his families trust with one foolish move.
  14. Congrats you two! Well deserved~
